Jim Slater, got the standing of King Clancy Memorial Trophy
Atlanta Thrashers forward Jim Slater may be selected by his teammates as being the club鈥檚 nominee to the 2011 King Clancy Memorial Trophy, presented annually by its National Hockey League in the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities off and on the ice and has created a noteworthy humanitarian contribution within his community.
Off of the ice, Slater participates in a number of community activities over the Atlanta area. This holiday season, he made an impactful donation to Traveler鈥檚 Aid of Metro Atlanta, and brought youngsters with cancer to the Thrashers game. He also took part in a Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless event, by which players sorted food, toys and clothes for homeless families have fun with in the holiday season. He did way more than he dis when he play in hisAtlanta Thrashers. The Lapeer, Michigan, native is actively relating to wounded warriors meet and greets, would be MOvember participant, a cause of Garth Brooks Teammates with regard to children Foundation and assisted the Georgia Aquarium in feeding sea life. For that second consecutive season, Slater was named the co-recipient of the 2011 Gilner-Reeves Community Service Award, that's presented annually in to the Thrashers player who not merely can make a visible impact about the Atlanta community, but consents to commit his efforts and talents beyond the letter of duty.
The King Clancy Memorial Trophy will be provided together with numerous other accolades for the NHL Awards held around the Pearl Concert Theater included in the Palms Hotel in Nevada, Nevada on Wednesday, June 22.
